And that is precisely what brings us here today, as MyAnimeList has shared the ranking of the most anticipated anime series for the Summer 2023 season (July-September). There, we can see that the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has over 281,000 registered members, followed by the second season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation with over 185,000 members. This represents a difference of over 51 percent, which is definitely significant.
After Rudeus' isekai, the second season of Masamune-kun no Revenge follows with over 84,000 members (a difference of 120 percent), and in turn, is followed by the second part of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War with over 82,000 members. Further down the list, we come across the third season of Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent A Girlfriend) and the supplementary season of Horimiya: The Missing Pieces, adapting omitted parts from the 2021 series.
Do you notice anything about this list? Well, it turns out that there are no new series on there, only continuations. It seems that while the Summer 2023 season (July-September) has some of the most anticipated series of the year, they are actually anticipated continuations of others that have already premiered previously. However, that's just what is shown in the list. If we go to the platform and check the upcoming releases, we can expand it up to ten positions, which include:
